NEWS | Globe Business, the enterprise arm of Globe Telecom, posted a record 11 billion pesos in corporate data revenue for the first half of 2026, up 15 percent year on year. That marks the segment's first double digit first half growth since 2023. The second quarter alone hit a record 5.9 billion pesos, driven mainly by domestic internet services and continued demand for business technology solutions.

This growth is backed by real spending behind it. Globe poured 26.3 billion pesos into capital expenditures in the first half, up 39 percent year on year, with about 91 percent of that going straight into data related infrastructure, expanding network capacity and enterprise offerings across connectivity, cloud, cybersecurity, and business applications.

BMN sees this as a clear signal of where Philippine businesses are actually spending their money right now. While plenty of companies talk about digital transformation, this shows Philippine enterprises are backing that talk with real budget, on internet services and business tools they use every single day, not just on flashy pilot projects that never scale.

That kind of steady enterprise demand tends to hold up better than consumer spending during uncertain economic periods, since businesses that already depend on these systems to operate usually cannot just cut back when budgets tighten.

If enterprise data demand keeps growing at double digits while regular consumer spending stays cautious, does business infrastructure become the more reliable bet in a slowing economy?
